On the morning of April 23, members of the Zawiya Perspective community volunteered at the Islamic Center of Southern California’s weekly food pantry. This weekly food pantry in the heart of Koreatown brings together diverse individuals across all ages, cultural backgrounds and religions to serve and be served fresh food.

A dedicated team of Zawiya community members joined to continue community service work. The very well organized event allowed volunteers to serve in whatever way they felt most comfortable. Everyone’s hearts felt gladdened by Allah’s compassion and abundance.

The Zawiya plans to serve again in June at the annual Humanitarian Day on Skid Row. As this event happens during the holy month of Ramadan, it creates a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the blessings we share as one human brother and sisterhood. Stay tuned for details!
